On Raw, Braun Strowman was reported to have suffered an elbow injury thanks to Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley, and Baron Corbin. Speculation is the injury is real but it wasn't suffered on Monday. Strowman has actually been dealing with an elbow injury for quite some time.

During the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about the injury and stated the storyline on Monday was done to give Strowman some time off to have elbow surgery. He's been dealing with bone spurs and that WWE needs to figure out the extent of his injury to see if he'll actually be able to take part in his schedule TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs match versus Corbin. WWE did not announce Strowman's status for the show after reporting the injury, only noting that he had a "shattered elbow."

While his status for TLC is up in the air, Meltzer did report that WWE officials believe Strowman will be able to compete at the upcoming Royal Rumble pay-per-view where it is expected WWE will promote a match between himself and Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship.

When the injury was suffered isn't entirely clear but former WWE wrestler Matt Morgan said he spoke with Strowman and that he hurt his elbow during his steel cage match with The Big Show on RAW last year on the September 7, 2017 episode. Apparently, Big Show accidentally landed on Strowman's elbow doing an elbow drop. He assumes the elbow injury just got to the point it could no longer be ignored.

What This Means

If Strowman is going to miss any significant time, it does potentially explain why he wasn't given the Universal Title at Crown Jewel. It also begs the question as to who the main babyface on Raw will be over the next couple of months. With Roman Reigns and Strowman out, Raw is going to be left short-handed when it comes to big-name Superstars.
