Kurt Angle was the latest victim of The Fiend's random attacks on Raw this week. Bray Wyatt has now apologized for his alter ego's actions.

This Sunday at SummerSlam, we will get to see The Fiend in action for the very first time. Finn Balor will have the honor of being the first-ever wrestler to take on Bray Wyatt's alter ego. Chances are it will be the last time we see Balor for at least a couple of months, and that The Fiend will do quite the number on the first-ever Universal Champion.

Balor's expected absence after SummerSlam would also explain why we haven't seen much of him during the build to this match. Most of Wyatt's attacks have been on other Superstars, namely returning legends. At the Raw Reunion, the lights went out, and The Fiend attacked Mick Foley. This week on Raw, the same thing happened to Kurt Angle.

After attacking Foley, Wyatt apologized and thanked the Hall of Famer on behalf of The Fiend. This week, after his attack on Angle, he has done something similar. Wyatt published an apology on Twitter, but went into a lot more detail than he did with Foley. Wyatt wrote that he idolized Angle as a young man, and that hasn't changed even after what happened on Raw.

"I hope you can understand. I’m sorry for what I have done. I wish you knew how much," Wyatt went on to write. The last part of the tweet is another subtle hint that The Fiend is effectively a Hail Mary when it comes to his WWE career. "This time it all has to be perfect," Wyatt adds. Clearly, this is a last-ditch attempt at trying to make the Wyatt character take.

Personally, we have loved everything from the Firefly Funhouse to The Fiend. The transition from video packages to the ring is the biggest test of all. That has worked thus far, but we won't know if the gimmick works well in a match until this Sunday. Fingers crossed Wyatt defeats Balor quickly and definitively, and we get a return match with Balor as The Demon in a few months time.
