Bray Wyatt is no stranger to being betrayed by high-profile newcomers to his old Wyatt Family faction. Daniel Bryan did it in 2014, then Randy Orton did it in 2017 and added salt to the wounds by beating Wyatt for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania. Now that The Wyatt Family is a distant memory, with Bray having recently turned face and joined forces with Matt Hardy, rumors are suggesting that Wyatt will be the one to turn the tables this time around, betraying the "Woken" one and taking over as leader of SAnitY once the faction gets called up to the main roster.

In the most recent issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer wrote that WWE creative has pitched the idea of Wyatt turning on Hardy, a move that would allow him to take over as SAnitY’s leader, presumably taking over from erstwhile stable leader Eric Young. According to Meltzer, it’s still unsure whether the idea went down well and if WWE will be pushing forward with the planned turn, but one thing’s for sure — it’s an idea that has been thrown around in recent weeks.

Not long after the rumors of the Wyatt turn broke out, the Eater of Worlds took to Twitter, tagging Meltzer and asking why he “speaks so poorly” of him. He then reaffirmed his allegiance to “House Hardy,” and got a reply from Hardy a few minutes later, boasting that the pair’s “ingenious insanity” will “ignite the industry.”

So far, the unlikely Hardy/Wyatt partnership has gone over well with the WWE Universe. After Wyatt helped Hardy win the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 34, the pair formed a tag team, and after an easy win over Titus Worldwide, they’re booked to face The Revival on the next Monday Night Raw, with the winner going on to face The Bar for the vacant Raw Tag Team Championships at the Greatest Royal Rumble.

WWE has not been known to have a lot of faith in Bray Wyatt in recent years, but it would simply be wrong to have him turn on Matt Hardy so soon and have him lead a faction like SAnitY. Furthermore, such rumors suggest that WWE might not have any plans for Eric Young on the main roster, much like they didn't have any for Paul Ellering, who was fired by the Authors of Pain when they made their main roster debut on the Raw after WrestleMania. Here's hoping WWE doesn't push forward on these rumored plans, as the new Wyatt/Hardy alliance has worked wonders for both men's characters, especially Wyatt's.
