They haven't been together long, but the honeymoon may already be over for Brian Cage and Taz as Cage is contemplating firing his advocate/manager, according to a series of posts on social media Friday.

On Wednesday's Fight for the Fallen show, Cage unsuccessfully took the title from Jon Moxley thanks to a towel being thrown in by his mouthpiece/advocate/manager. Taz was more than confident Cage would take the title, even crowning Cage with his FTW Title belt because Cage was such a bad a--. But, when Cage got locked in a submission hold, Taz threw the towel in, seemingly trying to save his client from long-term damage.

Cage wasn't and isn't happy about it.

The new FTW Champion took to Twitter and wrote that he's been going back and forth trying to decide what to do about working with Taz moving forward. He wrote:

It's been a rough couple of days, and @OfficialTAZ and I have gone back and forth. I've considered relieving him of his duties and wanted to immediately after the match. I'll wait and see how I feel after the weekend.

Regardless, I never tapped. I wasn't gonna tap. I only need one arm to drop mox on his head. I technically may no longer be undefeated, but I'm still unbeaten. And more importantly, the answer to the question "who betta than cage?", is still NOBODY!

This response came after Taz tried to justify his actions on social media one day earlier. Taz wrote, "some of you DO understand why I did what I did during the AEW World Title Match between @JonMoxley @MrGMSI_BCage" He added, "...but for those who are mad about it, understand this I would do the exact same thing in that same situation again."

AEW Having Second Thoughts?

While this doesn't mean Cage and Taz will split, could AEW be having second thoughts about teaming these two together? Is giving Cage a manager something AEW is rethinking? It isn't a great look that Cage lost his first big singles match for the promotion, even if they used Taz as the reason he lost.

At the same time, this could be a work between these two and the tension isn't all that high.

Taz also does color commentary on AEW's show and perhaps that played a role.
