Brie Bella addressed the accidental kick to Liv Morgan's face on social media and in a way apologized. It didn't matter as she got blasted by fans and members of the WWE Universe for being careless and unsafe in the ring.
The accident that took place on Monday wasn't Brie Bella's fault. When Brie kicked Morgan twice in the face and essentially knocked her out, making Morgan unable to finish the match, it was a series of untimely circumstances that created an ugly moment. Unfortunately for Brie Bella, her history botching moves and nearly injuring WWE Superstars is coming back to haunt her and fans aren't giving her the benefit of the doubt.
Brie took to social media after Raw on Monday and said, "Every match on
#Raw is an opportunity for us to entertain our fans. Our intentions as @WWE Superstars is to win the match, never injure our opponents. Thinking about @YaOnlyLivvOnce tonight." It wasn't quite an apology but it was Brie's way of addressing the elephant in the room and ensuring people knew hurting Morgan wasn't intentional.
Since that post went up, thousands of responses followed and most of them were not kind. While some fans defended the fact it injury was an accident, many others pointed to her history messing up her own moves, almost hurting others and telling her she doesn't have it in the ring and should retire before she really hurts someone worse than she did on Monday.
Responses ranged from, "That’s not the problem. The problem is that you’re a reckless worker and an obvious danger to whoever you’re in the ring with. Please stick to reality TV." to others suggesting her match at the Super Show-Down should be an ambulance match. Many simply said Brie has been bad since she returned.
WWE hasn't said much other than sharing Brie's post and there's no update on Liv's condition as of yet. That said, the company has to see what many of the fans see, in that Brie has had an awful lot of accidental instances in the ring since her return. How many can they allow before they tell her that something needs to change?
