Brock Lesnar defeated Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 34 to successfully retain the Universal Championship, but plenty of questions arise after The Beast Incarnate once again reigned supremacy.

For starters, it will be interesting to see whom Lesnar faces next, but a rumor from Kris Zellner of Between the Sheets offers a possible answer - and an intriguing one at that.

Bobby Lashley - the former WWE United States Champion - left Impact Wrestling in January and has been rumored to be joining the WWE once again. Given his background in MMA, Lashley would be an excellent opponent for Lesnar - and one who could realistically dethrone the Universal Champion.

Lesnar's WWE contract expired after WrestleMania, and UFC President Dana White reported last week that he would be returning to the octagon. But it's important to note that Dave Meltzer from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has reported that there are clauses in Lesnar's deal that could keep him on with WWE through the summer.

We obviously won't know for at least a couple of more months just whom Lesnar will face at SummerSlam, but Lashley is a realistic, rumored and big-time candidate. After that, the question becomes what the future holds for Lesnar in WWE.

Well, we'll have to await word from WWE insiders as to whether or not Lesnar will compete for both promotions. If he's prepared to leave the squared circle this summer, dropping the title to Lashley before he departs makes perfect sense.

Lashley was a popular mid-card superstar with the WWE, but he left the company in 2008, with reports suggesting that he had an ugly altercation with official Michael Hayes. But that was a decade ago, and there's no denying that Lashley would be a giant money maker and addition to WWE's already stacked roster.

We'll continue to monitor this situation closely, as the WWE Universe embraces itself for a possible bout between two major wrestling talents who have also dominated the world of MMA.
