One week after Bobby Lashley's return to WWE and apparently, a potential showdown with Brock Lesnar is already on the cards.

When Brock Lesnar stepped into the ring with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 34, most fans in the Superdome and watching around the world were less than interested. Not only had they already watched seven straight hours of wrestling, but the outcome of the main event felt like it was a foregone conclusion. It wasn't though and Lesnar remains Universal Champion.

Most of us thought that The Beast Incarnate would drop the title to Reigns and leave WWE so that he could compete for UFC once again. On top of that, it feels as if there is nothing for him left to do in WWE. He had matches with almost everybody that he could possibly go up against at this point, and he absolutely decimated The Big Dog at WrestleMania.

24 hours later though, the former Impact Wrestling Champion interrupted Elias on Raw last week, beat him down and then returned to the locker room. When it comes to the short list of matches that most fans would still want Lesnar to have, Lashley is likely pretty near the top of it and apparently, it could happen sooner rather than later.

PWStream reported over the weekend that Lesnar versus Lashley "has been discussed" but if it were to happen it wouldn't be for the title. That likely means The Beast will lose the championship to Reigns at the Greatest Royal Rumble. PWStream goes on to say that if the match were to happen it will likely take place at SummerSlam when WWE needs big names and big profile matches to fill out the card.

Lashley has not been shy when it comes to making it known that he would like to take on Lesnar, and who can blame him? Being an accomplished MMA fighter himself, he has also said that he doesn't mind whether it takes place in a ring or in an octagon. Lashley's confidence is admirable, and we don't want to burst his bubble, but no matter where it happens it will probably be Lesnar who is getting his arm raised at the end of it.
