WWE has moved Brock Lesnar from the alumni section back to the active Superstar page on its website, suggesting rumors he is nearing a return are true.

Brock Lesnar is no stranger to disappearing for extended periods of time, sometimes with a title around his waist. This latest stint has been a little different though, and thankfully he isn't currently a champion. The Beast Incarnate wrestled Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 36, losing the WWE Title to him in the process. That match was more than 14 months ago and Lesnar hasn't been seen in WWE since.

14 Months And Counting

Not only has Lesnar been absent, but at some point during his time off, WWE moved his profile from its page of active Superstars to the alumni section. Once fans started to notice the change in Lesnar's status, news filtered through that by definition, Lesnar really had become a WWE alumnus.

With fans returning to buildings next month, rumors of returns have started to rumble, and Lesnar is among the names that have been mentioned. WWE has added fuel to those rumors by reactivating Lesnar's WWE.com profile. The former WWE Champion is no longer listed with the alumni and has returned to being listed as an active Superstar. While not confirmed, that likely means the rumors of his return are true.

Over To Alumni And Back Again

WWE often moves its Superstars between the active and alumni section, and it's up to the fans to figure out whether it means something or not. The shift of Daniel Bryan's name to the alumni section was a signal that his contract really had expired. Kevin Owens, on the other hand, has been delisted as an active Superstar twice, but both times were simply to add realism to an angle.

Speculation as to what fans can expect from Lesnar when we see him next has been rife. His name was even mentioned when AEW teased the arrival of a major signing earlier this year at Revolution. Considering Lesnar is money orientated, it wouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility for a family that is worth significantly more than Vince McMahon to come wrestle for them. Seems as if WWE has managed to keep Lesnar onside though, and the most likely place we'll see him again is the first SmackDown with fans on July 16, 2021.
