The latest speculation surrounding Brock Lesnar is that The Beast might not have a spot on the WrestleMania 35 card at all.
There is always a certain amount of mystery when it comes to Brock Lesnar. That goes for his life both inside and outside of the ring. There's a reason he and his family live in the middle of nowhere. The Universal Champion is a very private man, which is why it's hard to predict what lies in wait for him when it comes to his WWE career.
Every time we are certain his current run with WWE has come to an end, he reappears. Take right now, for instance. After Roman Reigns slayed The Beast at SummerSlam and took his crown, we thought we would not see him until he was done with his imminent UFC return. Yet here we are, four months later, and Lesnar is once again Universal Champion.
Granted, this latest title run was brought about by some extenuating circumstances. Reigns is currently battling leukemia and Lesnar stepped in to be champion once again in his absence. What we don't know is when Lesnar's current run will end. While most are assuming that someone will topple The Beast at WrestleMania 35, Mike Johnson speculated something a little different during PWInsider Elite Audio this week.
Johnson is of the belief that Lesnar's time with WWE will come to an end at Royal Rumble. The champ is currently scheduled to defend his title against Braun Strowman at the PPV next month. It will be the third time The Monster Among Men has gone one on one with Lesnar. If he doesn't beat him this time around, it could do irreparable damage to Strowman's character.
If Lesnar does lose the title at Royal Rumble, that doesn't necessarily mean he'll be leaving WWE. Even though it seems like the most logical outcome, what with Daniel Cormier waiting for Lesnar in UFC, in the past The Beast's contracts have defied logic. Perhaps Strowman will win at Royal Rumble, and the two will meet in a rematch at WrestleMania 35.
