The Jarvis Landry era has finally come to an end in Miami, as the Dolphins are shipping the star wide receiver to the Cleveland Browns for two draft picks. The transaction was announced by Adam Schefter:

Earlier this week, Landry signed the $16 million franchise tag - though it was heavily expected that he would get traded. Sure enough, the Browns were able to work out a deal for the three-time Pro Bowler.

Landry has been one of the NFL's top wide receivers, racking up at least 94 receptions and 987 yards in each of the last three seasons. Cleveland owns the first and fourth overall selections in this year's draft, so they'll have the chance to land a franchise quarterback to complement Landry.

Cleveland surely needs help at wide receiver, as running back Duke Johnson led the team last season in receptions (74) and receiving yards (693). And if they bring back the troubled Josh Gordon in 2018, the Browns could own a dynamic receiving tandem.

For the Dolphins, trading Landry helps them save cap space, and they're already stocked with talented receivers in Kenny Stills and DeVante Parker. Free agency and the draft will give them the chance to add more, should they feel the need to address the position.

Miami also has a good pass-catching running back in Kenyan Drake, who had 50 receptions last season. If quarterback Ryan Tannehill can be healthy for all of 2018, Miami's offense should be fine without Landry.

The Dolphins were clearly not interesting in signing Landry long-term, so they're hoping that the other wideouts can produce more. Otherwise, this trade could go down as a massive failure.

It's been quite a week for NFL trades, as we've already seen Michael Bennett get traded to the Philadelphia Eagles, while the Denver Broncos dealt Pro Bowl cornerback Aqib Talib to the Los Angeles Rams.
