Former WWE Superstar Murphy has issued a statement in the wake of his recent release.

In case you missed it, on Wednesday, June 2, WWE announced that Murphy, Braun Strowman, Lana, Aleister Black, Ruby Riott, and Santana Garrett had been let go.

After the news broke, Murphy took to Twitter to reassure his fans.

“So Today ends my 8 years with WWE! What a crazy ride! Highest of Highs, Lowest of Lows, but whether I had 3 minutes or 20 minutes I put all my effort into my performances! Nothing is harder when all you want to do is wrestle but you can’t!," the Aussie wrote.

The former WWE Cruiserweight Champion then struck an optimistic tone and ensured his fans that the best is yet to come.

"In my opinion, I haven’t even hit my peak yet and I’m excited to see what the next adventure holds. I was lucky enough to work with some of the best talent in the world and learned a tremendous amount. But trust me… the whole world will know what I meant by ‘Best Kept Secret’ Thank you all!,” he wrote.

Murphy (real name, Matthew Adams) signed with WWE in 2013 after a six-year career on the Australian independent scene. He initially reported for duty at WWE's developmental brand NXT, where he joined forces with Wesley Blake. The pair formed a tag team, an would go on to become NXT Tag Team Champions, making Murphy the first Australian to hold a WWE title.

Blake and Murphy would soon be joined by Alexa Bliss, who served as the duo's manager/valet during their NXT stint.

After losing some weight, Murphy was moved to WWE's fledgling Cruiserweight division in 2018. On 6 October at Super Show-Down in his hometown of Melbourne, Murphy defeated Cedric Alexander to win the Cruiserweight Championship.

Murphy eventually moved to WWE's main roster and allied himself with Seth Rollins, with whom he would win the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship.

Murphy is an incredibly talented athlete who would be an asset to any roster. We can't wait to see what he does next.
