WWE is keeping up the recent trend of having main roster Superstars appear at NXT shows. This time, the company offered fans a reunion between Cesaro and Kassius Ohno.

During an NXT Live Event, Cesaro decided to come to the aid of his former partner and make an appearance in Orlando, Florida when he came to the ring and double teamed Adam Cole of Undisputed Era. Cole tried to flee the ring, only to be dragged back in by Ohno, thrown to Cesaro who picked him up and was on the receiving end of a running forearm that landed him in the Cesaro spin-turned Ohno leg drop.

A former team known as The Kings of Wrestling, Cesaro and Ohno have only made one other appearance together since ruling Ring of Honor as tag team champions. That was a back when CM Punk was WWE champion and Seth Rollins the NXT champion. Before then, the team was known individually as Claudio Castagnoli (Cesaro) and Chris Hero (Ohno). During their run together, they also held the Chikara and CZW tag team titles.

This reunion, while fun and emotional for some, isn't likely to lead to anything. Most of these similar-style appearances where main roster wrestlers make a quick return at NXT shows is really just for the sake of appeasing the live audience. But, fans — especially ROH ones — know how special this team was when they were at the top of their game. If Ohno gets called up to the main roster at any point in the near future, you can bet there will be a contingent of the WWE Universe hoping he's part of a Cesaro storyline.

Some fans had fun with the reunion on social media suggesting Sheamus might be jealous, but again, this is not likely to lead to any sort of split between The Bar, so for now, it seems the partnership is pretty safe.

After the appearance, Cesaro wished Ohno a "Happy 20 years" in the wrestling business. It was likely this anniversary celebration that brought Cesaro to the show in the first place.
