Anthony Davis' free agency is still two seasons away, but he's drawing more attention than Kevin Durant nowadays, although the Warriors star will be a free agent by next summer.

The New Orleans Pelicans center is likely wanted by more than half of the other teams in the league. Yet, according to Charles Barkley, it would be pointless trying to sign him, pointless for all teams except the Los Angeles Lakers.

The former superstar forward appeared on ESPN show Get Up! on Thursday and voiced that he believes Davis is a certainty for the Lakers because he signed with Lebron James' agent during the summer.

"When I heard that Anthony Davis had signed with Klutch Sports, I knew the fix was in," Barkley remarked (h/t NBC Sports). "That’s the first thing that came to my mind when he signed with Rich Paul, who is a fantastic agent.

"The first time I heard Anthony Davis signed with Klutch, I said ‘Anthony Davis is going to L.A.’ So I feel like the fix has been in for like over a year now - and that’s unfortunate for the NBA."

Anthony officially became a member of the Klutch Sports Group in September but claimed that he made the switch because he felt the agency would help him become the most dominant player in the league.

"It was for who I am right now in my career and what I'm trying to do," he said back then. "I thought the change was necessary. That's all it was. Just trying to be the most dominant player in the league. I think making that change to Klutch will help me do so."

LeBron has already set the wheels in motion by revealing that he would jump at the opportunity to play alongside AD in a Lakers uniform. The comment has sparked outrage among small-market GMs around the league but Anthony has said that he doesn't care what LeBron says and is simply focused on trying to help the Pels win games.

"It was just time to make a switch," he said again this week. "It was something I wanted to do."

What This Means

The Lakers are one of the teams most expected to sign the New Orleans big man and they have made little secret of it. No one can be blamed for thinking that his agent switch is related to a potential move to L.A., least of all Charles Barkley.

Time, as it normally does, will tell in this case. And it will be pretty difficult to convince anyone that the switch had nothing to do with it if Davis does move to the Lakers.
