With Thibaut Courtois on his way out the door and Alisson signing for Liverpool, Chelsea needs to look elsewhere for a new goalkeeper.

Liverpool has officially recruited Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson. The Merseyside club had to fork out what is now a world record transfer fee for the shot-stopper, paying Roma $85 million for his services. With Simon Mignolet never really working out at the club and Loris Karius' unfortunate performance during the Champions League final, Liverpool had to make a splash in terms of a goalkeeper this summer.

The Reds' starting XI is currently looking extremely strong and some fans believe that they now have the tools to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title. What the club has likely started by signing Alisson is something of a goalkeeper merry-go-round. Roma will now need a replacement keeper, and whichever club they sign someone from will obviously need one too.

The most disappointed party when it comes to Alisson's signing will be Chelsea. The Blues' current keeper, Thibaut Courtois will likely be a Real Madrid player by the time the season begins so the club is in desperate need of a replacement. However, according to the London Evening Standard, new boss Maurizio Sarri will not let Courtois leave until they have signed his replacement.

Also according to the Standard, Sarri has a shortlist of just three targets now that Alisson is off the market. The extremely talented Gianluigi Donnarumma is one of the names on that list. At just nineteen years old, the Italian will likely cost Chelsea an awful lot of money. Leicester City's Kasper Schmeichel has also caught Sarri's eye after his World Cup heroics, and there is even the possibility that Petr Cech could return to Stamford Bridge.

Whatever steps Sarri makes in the next three weeks in terms of signing keepers or otherwise, he and Chelsea have a big and important season ahead. The Blues finished fifth in the Premier League last season which simply isn't good enough. The top of the Premier League only continues to get more and more competitive though, so it will be a tough ask to break back into that top four without a world-class goalkeeper between the sticks.
