Chelsea may be closing in on the signature of Gonzalo Higuain who has impressed everywhere he has been so far.

Despite the new Premier League still being almost a month away, there has already been a lot of unrest at Stamford Bridge. Most of that has been brought about by the confusing managerial situation. Despite the belief that Antonio Conte was no longer in charge, the Italian showed up to take pre-season training last week. That issue has now been resolved and former Napoli boss, Maurizio Sarri is officially in charge.

Now that Sarri is in charge he can finally put his stamp on the team. That will likely involve him bringing in some fresh faces, ones that he has become familiar with during his time in Serie A. Jorginho has already followed Sarri to Stamford Bridge and it doesn't look like the newest Premier League manager is done raiding the Italian league quite yet.

Next on Sarri's shopping list is Gonzalo Higuain. According to the London Evening Standard, it's going to cost the Blues in the region of $70 million to get the Argentine striker from Juventus. Even though Higuain didn't manage to find the net at all during his nation's disappointing World Cup campaign, his club record everywhere he has been is not to be sniffed at.

Over the course of his career, Higuain has scored 282 goals in 556 games, so pretty impressive. At the age of 30, he shows no sign of slowing down either, hence the steep asking price from Juve. The proven goal scorer has scored more than 20 goals per season for the past five years, one of which was under the man who is currently reported to be trying to bring him in at Stamford Bridge.

Higuain's deal may even include Daniele Rugani who Chelsea is also rumored to have an interest in. This summer could see a lot of change at Chelsea. Not only is a new manager already in place, but top stars Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois could both be on their way out of the club. The two World Cup semi-finalists will certainly take some replacing, and there is less than a month to do so.
