There is no doubt Chris Jericho is making waves outside WWE. Previously appearing for New Japan Pro Wrestling, he's gone back and forth between WWE and NJPW and rumors are he's potentially looking at some work with Impact Wrestling. On Saturday, Jericho took the next step to his furthering his legacy outside WWE when he won the IWGP Intercontinental Championship defeating the champion Tetsuya Naitovia pinfall at NJPW Dominion.

The day started when Jericho posted a new look for his appearance for NJPW and fans were surprised but not completely shocked since Jericho is never afraid to try something new. More surprising was how the match went and Jericho debuted his new look.

He made his way to the ring looking at little bit like Clockwork Orange had a baby with The Crow and as his opponent came down to the ring, Jericho took the opportunity to attack him before the bell. Jericho took the early advantage, attacking Naito as he entered the ring and drove him through a table opening a nasty cut under Naito's right eye. Naito tried to make a valiant comeback but after failing to pin Jericho with his Destino finisher, Jericho distracted the ref, and when the official couldn't see, Jericho hit the Codebreaker for the surprise win and 1-2-3 count.

Winning the title wasn't enough for Jericho who continued to attack Naito after the match had concluded. Only a save by EVIL got Jericho to stop and the rumor now is that Jericho will defend his newly-won belt at the Cow Palace in the United States when NJPW makes their next trip to North America.

With this win, questions will certainly be asked about what this means for Jericho and the WWE. If he's a title-holder for NJPW, is this the end of his time in WWE or is this more a temporary thing? We already know there are rumors he might work with Impact Wrestling so this could be something to really watch in the coming weeks.
