Chris Jericho recently discussed how Eric Bischoff's AEW debut leaked ahead of time, and why something like that hopefully won't happen again.

It might not seem like it for a lot of fans right now, but WWE and AEW's shows taking place in front of very few fans has been a blessing in some ways. As both companies have tried to tape shows ahead of time whenever they can, the chance of results leaking has been kept to an absolute minimum. If those same shows had taken place in front of fans, that would not have been the case.

However, as a few fans have started to trickle in, mainly wrestlers and their invited friends and family, results from taped shows have started to leak. The biggest example on the NXT side of things was the reveal that Keith Lee would win the double title match planned for the following week. In AEW, it was the debut of Eric Bischoff.

The good thing is for those in charge, with so few people in attendance, it's easier to tell where the leak has come from. During this week's Saturday Night Special, Chris Jericho angrily revealed that it was an "NXT reject" who leaked the news about Bischoff moderating his debate with Orange Cassidy.

"We know [who] the spy is, by the way. Oh, we know. He'll never f**king be back in AEW. [An] NXT reject was a spy," Jericho revealed. Le Champion didn't want to divulge who exactly the leaker was, but based on who from NXT was in attendance for that taping, and who hasn't and won't return in the coming weeks, it probably wouldn't be too hard for fans to figure out who it was.

Jericho also discussed the conversation that was had backstage following the leak. Higher-ups were torn between announcing Bischoff's appearance or still trying to keep it as a surprise for fans who hadn't seen the leak. They ultimately decided to go for the latter, which turned out to be the correct decision. Be warned anyone in attendance for Dynamite in the coming weeks, leak details, and Jericho will find you.
