Everyone knows Brodie Lee was chosen to lead the Dark Order and Matt Hardy was considered, but Chris Jericho names almost everyone else who was too.

As part of the latest Talk Is Jericho podcast, Le Champion brought in his long-time friend and now-AEW talent Luther and after talking about their history in wrestling together, Jericho revealed that he'd pitched Luther, among others to lead the Dark Order faction.

Jericho explained that he pitched to AEW the idea of either current Impact Wrestling talent James Mitchell coming in or that the company consider Luther. Jericho said:

"I know Jim Mitchell was one of the guys mentioned. Our whole concept at AEW is trying to create new talent and new stars, and I said if you're looking for a guy that can play a weird character because the word about you is your chameleon, you can play anything, I've got the guy.

Luther said he sent in some tapes for Tony Khan and Cody to take a look at, all of which they liked. "I watched and listened to a few different cult things online. I don't like to copy one person. I like to pick different things from different people and make it my own, " he explained. Luther then said one of his pitches was a bit too loud, so the advice was to talk more like Jake Roberts. His changes were enough to land him a job, but, ultimately, they decided to place him in Brandi's Nightmare Collective Group.

"So I think you were out of the equation because they had other guys in mind, " Jericho said.

Who Else Was Considered?

Jericho also confirmed that Matt Hardy was considered. Jericho also dropped the news that Marty Scurll was considered to be the leader. He didn't say if it was Scurll's choice to stay in ROH that changed things or not.
