Chris Jericho Reacts To Seth Rollins Labeling WWE The "Best Pro Wrestling On The Planet"

Seth Rollins labelled WWE the "best pro wrestling on the planet" over the weekend and clearly, Chris Jericho disagrees.

On Sunday night, the WWE locker room finally appeared to react to the criticism it has been under in recent months. Amid people making fun of Stomping Grounds' ticket sales, everyone on the card came together and really kicked things up a gear. There were a couple of things we could nitpick such as the opening match and the very end of the show, but other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed the PPV.

On Saturday evening, more than 24 hours before Stomping Grounds had even begun, Seth Rollins made a bold claim on Twitter. The Architect tweeted that WWE is the "best pro wrestling on the planet." Lucky for him, he and his colleagues delivered the following day. We're not saying it was the best show in wrestling history, but Rollins would have looked pretty foolish had it been more of the same.

While those Rollins shares a locker room with likely felt invigorated by his belief, some of those who don't have clearly taken issue with his comments. Chris Jericho was one of the first to reply to Rollins' tweet. Y2J quoted it and simply replied with a laughing emoji. For someone who worked for WWE as long as Jericho did, he certainly hasn't been pulling any punches as of late.

During Stomping Grounds, Rollins tweeted again. The Universal Champion shone a spotlight on the terrific cruiserweight match which took place during Sunday night's kickoff show. He signed off by saying "Find anyone else alive who does what I do as well as I do it as often as I do it. Ya can’t." This time, NJPW's Will Ospreay took issue with his remarks.

Ospreay replied "I'm alive," to which Rollins said WWE already has a better version of him, Ricochet. He also congratulated Ricochet on his US Title win, another highlight from Stomping Grounds. While we don't normally condone number one acknowledging number two, if you're going to do it at all, it's best to do it during an event like Stomping Grounds. Rollins certainly had plenty going on in the ring to back up his argument.
