It took 635 days, but the long-suffering Cleveland Browns fans finally get to celebrate a win again, and it's all thanks to the heroics of rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield against the New York Jets.

Mayfield replaced Tyrod Taylor in the second quarter and finished the game with 17 completions for 201 yards. He caught a two-point conversion pass in the third quarter (the Philly Special play seen in Super Bowl 52), and orchestrated a 15-play drive that took up 6:52 to win the game, courtesy of Carlos Hyde's one-yard touchdown.

ESPN's Adam Schefter sent the friendly reminder that Browns fans are entitled to free beer, following the team's 21-17 victory.

This erases the heartbreaks Cleveland suffered earlier in the regular season. Rookie kicker Zane Gonzalez had a game-winning field goal blocked in overtime of Week 1 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. That led to a 21-21 tie, meaning the Browns' winless streak was still alive.

The Browns were so close to upsetting the New Orleans Saints in Week 2. But Gonzalez missed two extra points and one field goal, including one at the last second that would have forced overtime. Gonzalez was released and replaced by Greg Joseph.

Cleveland's last win was on Dec. 24 against the San Diego Chargers, a 20-17 victory after Josh Lambo missed a game-tying field goal to force overtime. The Browns lost their Week 17 contest to the Steelers, before losing all 16 games in 2017.

The Browns haven't had a winning season in 11 years, and they last made the postseason in 2002. It's too early to know how he'll pan out, but Mayfield certainly looked like the next franchise quarterback in Week 3. For now, he's the hero that ended the franchise's embarrassing losing streak which spanned almost two full years.

Cleveland fans can finally sit back and enjoy the rest of the season, no longer having to worry about the losing streak. Now, we wait and see what Mayfield and the Browns can do for an encore.
