A video has surfaced on Instagram which shows former WWE star CM Punk taking part in a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament.

It's set to be quite the summer for the ex-wrestler, who's also had a UFC stint since leaving WWE. His Girl on the Third Floor horror film is set for the festival circuit in August while he's been doing commentary work for the Cage Fury Fighting Championships on UFC Fight Pass. There's also an upcoming Starrcast appearance for the erstwhile Straight Edge Superstar.

Punk participated in a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament at the Chicago Grappling Games in April and footage from the event recently found its way to social media, showing the 40-year-old in action.

Having competed in an under-199lb division, Punk placed third out of three competitors - so, admittedly not that great.

Meanwhile, the star has confirmed that he will be appearing at Starrcast III in Chicago next month. Punk was previously accused of trolling wrestling fans by agreeing to be at the event but he responded to a comment on Twitter suggesting he won't be getting back into the ring and his appearance is simply to toy with hopeful supporters.

"Nobody is trolling anyone," he wrote. "Making an appearance. Taking pics with fans. Come if you’re interested. Stay away if you’re not. Simple."

He also lashed out at another fan who claimed that he'd secretly agreed a deal with All Elite Wrestling.

Punk was interviewed by SI.com following the announcement over his upcoming Starrcast showing.

“I do about one signing a year and the best part is always finding out how you’ve touched people’s lives in a meaningful way,” he said. “A lot of it can be heavy; helped someone get clean, helped somehow with the loss of a loved one. I am always touched to know the private intimate stories people have.”

Punk has quite a lot going on nowadays but, given his failed stint as a UFC fighter and his more recent BJJ display, it looks like the ring is the place he's most comfortable. Whether or not he signs with a wrestling promotion is up left to time to tell but it wouldn't surprise anyone if he became AEW's next big signing.
