Cody Rhodes has called upon his fellow wrestlers to band together against "clueless and irresponsible" wrestling promoters.

It may seem like a lot longer because of what he has achieved, but Cody Rhodes has only been an independent wrestler for a little more than two years. When he left WWE in 2016, the former Intercontinental Champion had big aspirations. Nobody, including himself, likely envisioned what he would achieve in such a short space of time.

During that two and a bit year period, Rhodes has been a Ring Of Honor World Champion, currently has the NWA Worlds Heavyweight and IWGP US Titles, and has ticked off pretty much everyone on his dream match list. However, his greatest independent achievement so far has been All In. He and The Young Bucks booked and funded what is being referred to as the biggest indie wrestling show in the industry's history.

For the first outing as a booker, the show went really well aside from some timing issues. That's why Rhodes has more authority than most to say what he said on Twitter this week. The NWA Champion wrote, "the people in charge of wrestlers have never been more clueless and irresponsible." He signed off by saying wrestlers need to band together against the bookers and promoters who fall into that category.

The tweet as a whole holds a lot of truth. Not only did Rhodes call out present-day promoters, but he also pointed out that today's wrestlers are more talented than any other time in history. Conversely to the labels he applied to promoters, he dubbed his fellow wrestlers as the most "talented and responsible" ever. Considering the work being done when it comes to concussions and various injuries, despite the high flying and risks wrestlers take today, he might have a point.

There are only a handful of people in a position of power that say what they feel no matter how controversial in wrestling right now. Cody Rhodes is most definitely one of them. Plus, his continued work with pretty much everyone on the indie circuit means there are very few people who don't like him right now. If Rhodes asks wrestlers to band together for a cause, you can rest assured that he will have the backing of most of them.
