Cody Rhodes is about to become a free agent and even he doesn't know what's next for him in this chapter of his career.

Any doubts that Cody Rhodes may have had about leaving WWE when he first ventured out into the wider world of wrestling must be long gone by now. Every time it seems as if things couldn't possibly get better and he has done it all, he takes another step up and achieves another goal.

The latest of those goals came in the form of All In, and winning the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship, of course. Rhodes defeated Nick Aldis for the ten pounds of gold, a title his father won for the first time almost four decades ago. All of that on a show that he and The Young Bucks put together themselves, it's hard to imagine a moment in Rhodes' career that has been bigger and better than that.

As is often the case with wrestling, there is little time to dwell on the present and Rhodes is already looking to the future. On January 1, 2019, The American Nightmare becomes a free agent. During the latest episode of Ten Pounds Of Gold, Rhodes opened up about not knowing what or where he might end up next, even though he'll need to make a decision in the next three months.

Rhodes admitted that he could end up anywhere as of right now, including WWE, but also hinted that he might not sign with anyone at all. "Or whether I just become the NWA Worlds Champion, traveling the globe, carrying the 'ten pounds of gold,' taking Jack Brisco photos everywhere, I can't map it out," the champ explained. Rhodes signed off by saying he'll do what he's done ever since leaving WWE, and that's go with his gut.

One week it seems as if Rhodes and a few of his fellow Bullet Club members are WWE bound, the next it feels as if they are dead against it. One thing is for sure, and that's WWE definitely has the money right to sign Rhodes, Kenny Omega, The Bucks, and whoever else they want, but they clearly aren't fueled by money alone. If Rhodes and co can be assured of being used right in WWE, then that'll be what gets them under the guise of Vince McMahon.
