Cody Rhodes claimed during a live podcast in the UK that WWE made him an offer a few weeks ago and he turned them down.

The wrestling world is currently speculating on what Cody Rhodes and The Elite have planned in 2019 and where they might end up. The group's current contracts expire in January and from there, they will be able to do whatever they like. Rhodes and co continue to throw bait out for fans and it's hard to tell what is the truth and what is an attempt to throw us off the real scent.

At this moment in time, they really could have almost anything planned. The most likely avenue right now, with the most evidence to back it up, is that The Elite is going to be running its own wrestling company. The group filed a number of trademarks recently, one of which was for All Elite Wrestling.

One of the other possibilities is that Rhodes, Kenny Omega, and The Young Bucks could show up in WWE in 2019. That would certainly be big news and would make for interesting television if they were to join SmackDown Live as we inch ever closer to the show's debut on FOX. However, Rhodes shut down that rumor this past weekend during a Q&A.

The IWGP US Champion revealed that he was made an offer to return to WWE a few weeks ago but he turned it down. The Something To Wrestle podcast toured the UK last week and Rhodes appeared on the show that took place in Liverpool on Sunday evening. According to Wrestle Talk, when Rhodes was asked by a fan if he planned on returning to WWE, he answered by saying he had "passed on the WWE offer a few weeks ago."

The way Rhodes phrased his answer makes it sound like a WWE had been on the table for a while, and he and the rest of The Elite gave it some real consideration. Then again, there is the very real possibility that this is another red herring, and Rhodes will be back in WWE within the next few months. It is certainly an interesting situation, and we can't wait to see what happens to the group in 2019.
