There have been rumors for two years that CM Punk and Colt Cabana are no longer friends, but the latter has now cleared the air on that topic.

Ever since CM Punk and Colt Cabana were victorious in a lawsuit brought against them by WWE doctor, Chris Amann it has been the talk of the wrestling world and beyond. Amann was seeking damages for defamation, among other things, and reportedly wanted up to a little under $4 million each from Punk and Cabana. That didn't happen though and the trial came to an end last week.

More than four years after Punk left WWE and made the comments that he made about WWE and its doctors, the saga is finally over and everybody can go on with their lives. Just days later The Second City Saint competed in his second match for UFC, losing by decision to Mike Jackson, and Cabana can now return to focusing all of his efforts on his professional wrestling career.

For two of those four years, there have been reports that a wedge has been driven between Cabana and Punk. They were good friends before all of this drama, hence Punk choosing Cabana's podcast, The Art Of Wrestling, to air his grievances about WWE. However, amid rumors that Cabana was backstage at Raw in 2016, it has since been speculated that the two of them have fallen out.

Cabana recently appeared on Sirius XM's Busted Open Radio and host Bubba Ray Dudley broached the subject of his friendship with Punk. At first, Cabana was reluctant to give a straight answer. Dudley pushed though and when Cabana was asked if the two of them are at least cordial, he replied "Yes. Of course we are." He even compared their friendship to Dudley's relationship with Taz, to which the latter joked "Ah, so it's really bad, huh?".

Hopefully, the two of them are still as close as they were before this whole mess, although that might be hard considering everything they have now been through. If they are still friends, perhaps it will be Cabana who brings Punk back to wrestling. Cabana is ever present on the independent wrestling scene, and if Punk does ever come back it will more than likely be there than WWE.
