Colt Cabana has urged wrestling fans to lay off WWE physician Chris Amann following the verdict that saw the former emerge on the winning end of a lawsuit that also included his buddy, former WWE star CM Punk.

Amann filed multiple suits—including defamation, false light defamation and distribution —against the aforementioned pair after Punk left the WWE to subsequently make several damning comments regarding the doctor on Cabana's podcast, The Art of Wrestling. Amann was seeking nearly $4 million in damages.

On Tuesday, however, Punk and Cabana were both cleared of wrongdoing, with a Judge ruling in their favor and informing a relieved duo that they would not be required to pay a single penny.

Of course, fans backed the wrestler and UFC competitor, something which also meant that Amann has been on the end of loads of social media abuse. But, speaking in an interview with WrestlingObserver.com in the wake of the court's decision, Cabana insisted that it was never his intention to have fans lay into the medical practitioner.

“I want it to be known that I never wanted for people to tweet this doctor these things," he claimed. "It was never my intention and it kind of upset me when it was happening.

“Punk might feel differently, but that never was the intention and I know people are doing it now and I’d just like to say, if this made you angry and you have that feeling, then take that energy and instead of negatively tweeting at people [then] positively tweet at myself or Punk or the lawyers who did such a great job or even your favorite wrestler or something.

"I just like for people to take that energy and use it positively instead of negatively.”

Although Cabana won't have to pay Amann anything, he also claims to have spent a whole lot paying legal fees over the course of the four-year trial and ate up quite a bit of his life savings on legal representation.

As for Punk, the five-time world champion is believed to have fallen out of love with wrestling and is still unlikely to return to the WWE despite the case being over.
