Corey Graves has taken to Twitter to clarify that his comments relating to Chris Jericho were meant as a joke and he wasn't taking a "shot".

The wrestling world is currently talking about one thing. The AEW Title being stolen from the back of Chris Jericho's limousine. If this had happened to anyone else, none of us would question whether it really happened or not. However, since this is Y2J, the king of the modern-day wrestling work, no one is really sure what is going on.

Perhaps our favorite reference to the mishap so far came courtesy of Corey Graves on SmackDown Live. When Drake Maverick won back the 24/7 Title, Graves made a comment about the Brit celebrating by heading to a restaurant in his limo. A clear reference to what happened to Y2J, but according to Graves, it was not intended to be a "shot".

News sites have obviously had a field day with the comment from Graves, TheSportster included. That prompted the commentator to explain where his comment came from. Turns out it was not from a place of spite, but one of friendship. "I hate to burst your bubble, but sometimes a friend can make a joke about a friend," Graves tweeted, adding that we'll know when he takes a shot.

Harking back to Jericho being the king of the modern-day wrestling work, we're reminded of the build to his first match with Kenny Omega. When the two started their interaction on social media, no one had any idea where the rivalry was headed. Some of the reactions from Y2J lead us to believe that the title hasn't really been stolen. However, the real-looking police report has got us questioning that.

Whether the title is lost or not, it has certainly got people talking about AEW. We would honestly not be surprised to discover that this is all part of a big plan by Y2J to get the world talking about AEW before its TV debut. If so, mission accomplished. If not, what does the person who stole the title expect to get from doing so? They can neither sell it nor show it off, so what's the point?
