The Atlanta Falcons are wrapping up one of the most disappointing seasons in their history, and it sounds as though it'll cost some coaches their jobs.

Tom Pelissero of NFL Network appeared on Up To The Minute Live (via Kevin Patra of NFL.com), and said that although head coach Dan Quinn is safe, some of his coordinators could be out of work after this season.

Pelissero said that Quinn "absolutely is going to be back," but that there's a real possibility offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian and defensive coordinator Marquand Manuel could be let go after the season.

Owner Arthur Blank has already expressed confidence in Quinn and GM Thomas Dimitroff, so if significant changes are going to take place, it could start with cutting loose Sarkisian and Manuel.

Many picked the Falcons to reach the Super Bowl this year, with a revived offense and championship caliber defense. Even though 2016 MVP Matt Ryan has enjoyed a nice bounce-back season, the defense has struggled mightily - due in large part to injuries.

Star safety Keanu Neal tore his ACL in Week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles, ending his season abruptly. Athletic linebacker Deion Jones also missed a huge portion of 2018 with a foot injury, and Atlanta wasn't able to replace the production of either player.

Losing top running back Devonta Freeman also missed most of this season as he dealt with a nagging groin injury. The Falcons' rushing offense wasn't the same once he went down.

The Falcons sit at 5-9 and have officially clinched their first losing season since 2014, when they went 6-10 before firing head coach Mike Smith and hiring Quinn in his place.

What This Means

When a team misses the playoffs after a season full of championship expectations, coaches usually take the blame. It seems as though Blank is giving Quinn another chance, but the latter is going to overhaul is coaching staff quite a bit in 2019.
