Daniel Bryan may have not had his return match yet, but he certainly proved that he can still go in the final segment of SmackDown Live.

WWE and Daniel Bryan pretty much broke the internet on Tuesday afternoon when they announced that the SmackDown Live General Manager had finally been cleared to return to in-ring action. It was a moment most fans thought they would never see so when it was announced out of the blue the whole WWE Universe pretty much collectively imploded.

It was likely no accident that the announcement was made on a Tuesday either. Just a few hours after the initial announcement by WWE, SmackDown Live was on the air and there was only ever one man who would be opening the show. Daniel Bryan came to the ring to deafening "Yes!" chants from the Dallas crowd and explained the situation to fans watching around the world.

Bryan admitted that he doesn't know when his first match back will be, but following the closing segment of Tuesday's show we can probably hazard a guess. The GM summoned Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens to the ring and reluctantly revealed to the two of them that they were fired for what they did to Shane McMahon last week. What came next was definitive proof that Bryan can still take a bump.

Owens and Zayn looked as if they were going to be men, shake Bryan's hand and leave the ring. Owens couldn't possibly leave it at that though and initiated a beat down on the former World Champion. Bryan managed to fend the two of them off for a while and even delivered his patented Yes kicks much to the delight of the in-house fans. Eventually, the tides turned back in the favor of the Canadians however and Owens finished the night off by powerbombing Bryan on to the edge of the apron.

If you thought that WWE were going to go easy on Bryan since he has only just been cleared then you are sorely mistaken. The powerbomb on to the apron is one of the nastiest looking bumps in the business and the GM took one on his first night back. Judging by what happened on SmackDown Live we're guessing that Bryan will be wrestling at WrestleMania and that he will team up with Shane McMahon to take on Owens and Zayn.
