Daniel Bryan has been working extensively in clearing himself from the mysterious attacks on Roman Reigns, but he hasn't had much success up to this point.

On this week's episode of SmackDown Live, Bryan tried reasoning with Reigns once Rowan was identified as the attacker. But instead of listening to what he had to say, Reigns hit Bryan with a spear and before walking away.

Per WWE.com, Bryan released a statement and once again denied his involvement in the attacks, while shifting the blame towards Rowan yet again:

"Roman Reigns speared me last week and I understand his frustration. I know how it looks. I know a lot of people don’t like me and I know I seem guilty by association, but that doesn’t make me a liar. Erick Rowan is the one to blame and I have had nothing to do with this. Therefore, I still deserve an apology from Roman Reigns."

Two weeks ago, Bryan and Rowan revealed the person they believed to be the true culprit; it was an exact look-alike of Rowan. But on this past week's episode of SmackDown, Bryan reviewed the surveillance footage of the first attack (where backstage equipment and debris fell on Reigns) and spotted Rowan.

An angry Bryan berated Rowan - slapping  him across the face repeatedly before ordering him to leave. Rowan denied his involvement but listened to Bryan and walked away from the commotion. That was before Reigns confronted Bryan in the ring, and now we wait to see what the next chapter holds in this mysterious saga.

Despite immense speculation, Reigns and Bryan didn't end up competing at the SummerSlam pay-per-view. However, Rowan attacked Buddy Murphy - for accusing him of being the attacker  - during his match against Apollo Crews. Bryan was seen looking on backstage in curiosity.

However, Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Radio reported that Bryan and Reigns could instead face off at Clash of Champions or Hell in a Cell. Original plans called for the two to clash at SummerSlam, but WWE decided to continue the angle.

What This Means

This angle has been ongoing for over a month now, but it gets more and more interesting and intriguing each week. A Bryan vs. Reigns match is going to happen soon enough, it's just a matter of when. WWE has no reason to rush such a match, however, because the entire saga has been built up tremendously to this point.
