Last Saturday, Daniel Garcia defeated Lee Moriarty in the opening round of Limitless Wrestling’s Vacationland Cup. Nearly two years ago, after a show in Montreal, the Buffalo Brothers, aka Garcia, Kevin Bennett, Puf and Kevin Blackwood, were returning to New York when the car slid on black ice, smashed into a tree and split in half.

“If we hit a few inches over the rail, it would’ve went through the car and hit me directly. That was only a couple inches away from the end for me,” said Garcia. The 22-year-old wrestler ended up breaking his right femur and his fibula and tibia in his left shin and ankle, leaving his lower half covered in scars, which he proudly displayed at the Limitless show.

Within six months Garcia after the accident was back in the ring, showcasing his fierce skills. A graduate of the Grappler’s Anonymous wrestling school in Buffalo, Garcia is known for not holding back. “Even if I was signed to a major contract, I truly still believe I’d still be known as one of the best wrestlers in all of wrestling. I’m tired of people thinking I’m not, and I plan on proving that at Vacationland Cup,” he said before the match.

Several months ago, Garcia completed his degree in communications at Buffalo State College, though he remains committed to wrestling. “Wrestling is all I want to do. It is my sole focus. That’s why I’m dedicated to working out and watches shows. I’m constantly thinking of more ideas for my matches that no one else is doing. That’s the mentality I need to have in order to be great,” he said.

The winner of the Vacationland Cup might follow in the footsteps of past Limitless champions, such as MJF, who signed with WWE a year ago and now performs in AEW, and Anthony Greene, who signed with NXT last summer. On the December 9 episode of Dynamite, MJF won his second Diamond Ring after pinning Cassidy, while Greene has enjoyed one-time reigns as Heavyweight Champion, New England Champion and Tag Team Champion, becoming a CW Triple Crown Champion.
