So, David Arquette is back between the ropes, and it looks like he hasn't lost a step, and that's not a good thing.
When David Arquette said he was thinking about coming back to wrestling, a whole lot of wrestling fans collectively groaned as they remembered back to his run in WCW where he won the promotion's Heavyweight Championship. But, few people really thought he meant it, so it was quickly brushed aside. Fans recently learned Arquette's return is real, and from what we've seen thus far, it also isn't much different than what we saw the first time around.
In a video by TMZ Sports, the former WCW heavyweight champ jumped in the ring at Championship Wrestling From Hollywood‘s “Peter & Ray’s Surprise Birthday Party Spectacular” and he added his vast experience to a match.
In a sloppy display, Arquette ducked under an attempted double clothesline, hit one guy and then kicked another setting up a double Stone Cold Stunner that would give Steve Austin second-hand embarrassment.
If this is just the start of what fans can expect from Arquette, it's clear his comeback isn't coming with a lot of in-the-ring training time. It's also quite evident that the big boys in wrestling aren't thinking much of it as his first appearance was on a pretty small stage.
Professional wrestling has seen its fair share of bad ideas and Arquette winning the title of a major promotion was one of them. The only thing that would be worse, would be a company like WWE not learning from that debacle and bringing him in as a talent. His match at Championship Wrestling From Hollywood's show is a pretty clear sign WWE will be staying about as far away from him as possible.
