Dean Ambrose Has Been Offered $6 Million A Year By AEW [Rumor]

Dean Ambrose has reportedly been offered a massive $6 million per year contract by AEW as he prepares to leave WWE.

We are halfway through April and that means a few things for WWE. Most notably, it is effectively the start of a new season. WrestleMania is over for another year and this week, the Superstar Shakeup will take place. Men and women will switch brands and that will hopefully lead to some fresh match-ups across the entire company.

This year, it also means that Dean Ambrose's time with the company has almost come to an end. Earlier this year, WWE revealed that when The Lunatic's current contract came to an end, the two parties would be parting ways. While we don't know the exact date, his contract end will quite literally be any day now. Ambrose's appearance on Raw last week was likely the last time we will see him on WWE TV.

Even though the WWE chapter of Ambrose's career is coming to an end, it doesn't sound as if he is done wrestling. While the former WWE Champion has understandably remained tight-lipped on what's next, the most logical landing spot would appear to be AEW. That now seems even more likely if the contract rumored to have been offered to Ambrose by AEW is for real.

According to Slice Wrestling, AEW is willing to pay $6 million a year for Ambrose's services. If that's true and Ambrose accepts the offer, he will be earning three times more than what he was reportedly receiving in WWE. He'll also be earning more per year than his former Shield brothers Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. It's certainly feasible as both Chris Jericho and Jim Ross have confirmed that their AEW contracts are the best of their respective careers.

Perhaps the most interesting aspect of all this is the reason Ambrose supposedly chose to not renew his contract. Money apparently had no part to play and he wants to leave due to creative differences. We don't doubt for one second that that's true, however, Ambrose will be laughing if he can earn a whole bunch of money at the same time. Plus, with that much money to throw around, AEW clearly means business.
