Dean Ambrose is now Intercontinental Champion after defeating Seth Rollins at WWE TLC.

WWE can be pretty controversial at times. When it comes to what it does on-screen, most of those controversial moments and angles occur when the company attempts to blur the line between storyline and reality. WWE has taken things like drug addiction and affairs and used them to further the action on its TV shows.

One of the most recent examples has come in the form of Roman Reigns' recent heartbreaking announcement. The Big Dog is absent from WWE right now as he battles leukemia. The night Reigns made that announcement, Dean Ambrose turned on Seth Rollins. Controversial timing that not everyone agreed with. Since then, WWE has continued to use Reigns' situation to further the animosity between Ambrose and Rollins.

At TLC, the two of them finally got their hands on each other. Just to spice things up even more, The Architect's Intercontinental Title was on the line. These two men are obviously no strangers to one another, both as friends and enemies. That showed in this match. Every move Rollins had, Ambrose had a counter and vice versa. Eventually though, something had to give.

The final reversal of the match was one Rollins could not counter. The now-former Intercontinental Champion got planted onto the mat via a Dirty Deeds. Ambrose then rolled him over for the cover and three seconds later, he was the new Intercontinental Champion. It is the third time he has held the prestigious championship, and perhaps the start of his most meaningful reign to date with the title.

As we alluded to above, this is not the first time Ambrose and Rollins have been out for each other's blood. The last time they were enemies, the pair had a series of terrific PPV matches. Here's hoping that their latest match at TLC was the first of series number two. If that is going to be the case, all we ask is that the Reigns leukemia situation is left out of it and he is left to recover in peace.
