Boogie decided to be a bully on an outdoor court to a bunch of ‘younglings,’ and while it’s clear he’s having some fun with the elementary students, it’s also an exemplary display of just who is DeMarcus Cousins — and you either love him or hate him.

But that’s the way Cousins wants it — for people to have to choose how they want to see him. As a player, he has been deemed rebellious and defiant, while at the same time revered as a potentially dominant force. Despite his tumultuous tenure with the Sacramento Kings, Boogie balled, he earned his stripes and made his bones from his continued effort and productivity. When he finally left the Kings and joined the Pelicans, NBA fans and pundits truly got to see how strong of an offensive and defensive threat was Cousins, although limited – last year Cousins averaged 25 points per game and 12 rebounds before tearing his ACL.

Coming into this season, after being a free agent this summer and signing with Golden State Warriors, all eyes are on Cousins waiting to see how Boogie is going to play with the back-to-back defending champions, his past and still possible antics in tow. And it is these antics that were on full display, although in jest, with those elementary school students.

Swat after swat after swat after swat, until the last block where he literally just grabs the ball from out of the air on the release of a child’s shot, the footage is priceless and is a reminder of the center’s defensive aggressiveness. After all, if you are remorseless in blocking a little child’s shot, who undoubtedly looks up to you, imagine how Cousins will be on the court for the Warriors. Or at least, that’s what we are all hoping for as we secretly chuckle at Boogie’s blocking antics.
