Demaryius Thomas led the Houston Texans to a close 19-17 victory over his former Denver Broncos teammates - just five days after they traded him at Tuesday's deadline for two draft picks.

It was an emotional game for Thomas, who received a massive ovation from Broncos fans before the game started. He hauled in three receptions for 61 yards, as the Texans picked up their sixth straight win.

However, Thomas revealed after the game that he's still hurt over how the departure transpired. More specifically, Thomas ripped Broncos head coach Vance Joseph and team president John Elway - accusing them of lying to him and blaming Thomas for the team's struggles on offense.

"It just hurts me, man, I'm emotional," Thomas said on 760 AM (h/t Mike Klis of 9News). "I’m empty still."

Thomas mentioned that "nobody said anything" to him regarding a potential trade, and he only learned through agent Todd France that they were going to trade him. Thomas said that Bronco coaches told him the rumors were "fake," but the five-time Pro Bowler learned quickly that it was an empty promise.

"I had people from Denver saying like, 'They really said they got rid of you because you were the problem on offense," Thomas said, "and they said they wanted to better the offense. I'm like, 'Really, bro?' People just kept stirring it on."

Thomas will go down as one of the greatest Broncos of all-time; he registered five straight 1,000-yard seasons from 2012 to '16 and helped Denver win two AFC Championship Games. Thomas was instrumental in helping the Broncos win Super Bowl 50, too.

But the Broncos have been horrible on offense ever since Peyton Manning retired in 2016. Elway has already moved on from the likes of Brock Osweiler, Trevor Siemian, Chad Kelly and Paxton Lynch. Now, free agent signing Case Keenum is flopping and looks like a good candidate to get released this offseason.

"I heard they were saying that Vance was saying something, and Elway was saying something," Thomas added. "I did so much for this organization and never had nothing bad to say about anybody...For you all to say that I was one of the reasons that the offense wasn't going, and say this and that, man, that hurt."

The Broncos sit at a putrid 3-6 on the season, having lost six of their last seven games following a promising 2-0 start. With Thomas joining a team in the driver's seat for the AFC South division, it's safe to say he got the last laugh here.
