Former WWE Tag Team Champions Demolition revealed what it would take for them to accept being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

And unsurprisingly, it was a cheque with a lot of zeroes.

Demolition is now mostly retired, what with both tag team partners being well into their 50s, but back in the day, they were a force to be reckoned with. Barry Darsow (better known as Ax) and Bill Eadie (also known as Smash) were three-time WWF Tag Team Champions throughout the late ‘80s and early ‘90s, and they still hold the WWE record for most combined days holding the championship.

Since leaving the WWF (which later became the WWE) they both separated to seek their fortunes with various independent wrestling promotions. The two wouldn’t reunite to form Demolition until 2007 when they appeared at a United States Xtreme Wrestling event in Orlando, Florida to become UXW Tag Team Champions.

But that was over a decade ago. Their last match was in May last year, with neither having any contact with the WWE outside of a class action lawsuit brought against the promotion for failing to disclose the dangers of concussions sustained during their careers.

As such, there’s not a lot of incentive to join the WWE Hall of Fame. On a recent episode of Prime Time With Sean Mooney, Demolition revealed what it would take to get them to join.

"Who knows?” Barry asked rhetorically. “We may never ever [join WWE Hall of Fame] because they are so many tag teams out there."

Not one to let the topic drop, Mooney pressed on with what the WWE could do to convince the reluctant former champions. "You guys deserve to be in there—I know they've approached you. What would it take to accept that honor?"

"It’d probably be about $100,000 to even get us to go there,” Darsow replied.

Evidently displaying his grandfatherly nature, Darsow continued on with how he’d disseminate this hypothetical $100,000 between his mother-in-law’s church, his son who is a deputy sheriff in North Carolina’s K-9 unit, and various other local charities.

Even if the WWE never approaches Demolition again, neither Darsow nor Eadie will consider it to be a great loss. "It would be a nice footnote, but Barry and I have both said a number of times we have no control over it. If we get in, great. If we don’t get in, we’re not going to lose sleep over it."
