Former Toronto Raptors superstar DeMar DeRozan wasted no time in voicing his displeasure and discontent with being traded to the San Antonio Spurs, and he took it another step further during camp in Las Vegas.

During an interview at USA Basketball Camp, a reporter questioned DeRozan about any possible conversation he had with Raptors president Masai Ujiri. Per Steven Loung of Sportsnet, DeRozan said there have been no talks between he and Ujiri, and that there is "No reason to have a relationship," and it's "done" on his end.

Last week, the Raptors traded DeRozan, Jakob Poltl and a first-round pick to the Spurs in exchange for superstar Kawhi Leonard and guard/forward Danny Green. DeRozan took to Instagram and expressed his disappointment in the trade, citing his long-term loyalty to the franchise.

Trading DeRozan was undoubtedly difficult for Ujiri. This is a four-time All-Star who stayed loyal to the city of Toronto and became a lovable figure in the city. DeRozan was extremely beloved in the community and helped this team clinch its fifth consecutive playoff berth in 2018.

But with Leonard - a two-time Defensive Player of the Year, 2014 NBA Champion and Finals MVP - asking for a trade, there was no way Ujiri could let the opportunity pass up. The Raptors won 59 games in 2017-18 but were swept by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the second round for a second straight year.

Besides trading DeRozan, Ujiri also fired well-respected head coach Dwane Casey, who was later hired by the Detroit Pistons. Indeed, Ujiri is trying to push this team even further by competing for the NBA Championship next year, and trading DeRozan was a necessary move on his end.

It's easy to understand why DeRozan is unhappy, but we've seen countless superstars get traded by a team against their will. The NBA can be a tough business for players and fans sometimes, and DeRozan and his Toronto supporters are learning this.
