Dez Bryant signed a contract with the New Orleans Saints this week, but it appears that won't make his debut with the team this Sunday or anytime soon.

Bryant was already ruled out for this Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals before their team practice was held today. But now, after Bryant was injured during practice today, the Saints fear that he has torn his Achilles.

It has been reported that Bryant suffered the injury on the last play of drills today in practice. This is just such a tough blow for Bryant, who had just secured the position that he has been waiting for ever since the Dallas Cowboys released him this past off-season.

Bryant was ruled out for this Sunday's game due to him needing more conditioning and time for him to understand the Saints' playbook better. The Saints' depth at the wide receiver position was already dangerously thin as to why they went out and signed Bryant.

Bryant was expected to start behind Michael Thomas and Tre'Quan Smith. He was expected to be on a snap-count the first couple of games he participated in. But now, it is unclear when we will ever see Bryant playing in a game again.

Last season, Bryant averaged 52.4 yards per game and 12.1 yards per catch. He also recorded six touchdowns and started in every game for the Cowboys a season ago. But, Bryant also just turned 30 years old.

With Bryant reaching the age of 30, plus with the likely hood of him just sustaining a very serious injury, this might be the last of Bryant in the NFL. Bryant only had a handful of offers from teams that were interested in his services this past off-season.

So, combine that with the fact that he will likely not be ready for any football activities until August. This may be the last time we ever see the three-time Pro Bowler playing on an NFL field.

If that is the case, Cowboys' fans should remember Bryant for his great run from the 2011 season, through the 2014 season. Bryant averaged 12.5 touchdowns and just over 1,215 receiving yards through those four seasons with the team.
