Dolph Ziggler isn't happy with how the past couple of weeks have transpired for him in WWE, and he took to Twitter to voice his frustrations about it.
Six days before his match against Goldberg at SummerSlam, Ziggler was ambushed and attacked on Miz TV. Goldberg signed a contract to finalize their match, and the night ended with Ziggler receiving Sweet Chin Music from Shawn Michaels, who was The Miz's guest that evening.
Ziggler sent a sarcastic remark towards Roman Reigns being "the guy," even though the Big Dog wasn't the one who had to endure all of that humiliation that The Showoff went through.
please keep the big d’oh @WWERomanReigns in your thoughts. he recently had a bunch of bad stuff ALMOST happen to him. he wasnt blindsided by a jealous hbk, Maryse’s husband or viciously speared repeatedly, by that deranged human ring post-goldberg, but he’s THE guy #prayers #yolo— Nic Nemeth (@HEELZiggler) August 19, 2019
Reigns fired back and told Ziggler to "sleep it off," while daring him to show up on Monday Night Raw tonight.
U sound like u had 1 to many mai tai’s, princess. Sleep it off. If u wake up and you’re still thinking like an idiot. Come on down to my ring at 8pm ET tomorrow night. Just know, if u show your face. I will punch it. #Raw #MaiTaiToughGuy Good night, God Bless. https://t.co/9H7YzWPSKl— Roman Reigns (@WWERomanReigns) August 19, 2019
After getting embarrassed by Goldberg at SummerSlam, Ziggler faced The Miz on last week's episode of Raw in a losing effort. Judging by this Twitter feud with Reigns, it seems like there's a strong possibility that Ziggler will feuding with "the guy" next.
Last week, it was reported that Ziggler and Vince McMahon had a "handshake deal," in which The Showoff would be released from his WWE contract following SummerSlam. However, Vince ultimately decided he'd "rather just pay him to stay home," as Ziggler explores "other projects."
Ziggler went on a lengthy hiatus earlier in the year to work on his stand-up comedian career. In the past, he's been open about his unhappiness in WWE, so it really does feel like a matter of time until he leaves the squared circle - though it's anybody's guess how much longer he'd stay on for.
What This Means
This Twitter exchange could set the tone for a potential segment and/or match between Ziggler and Reigns on tonight's episode of Raw. It should provide some clarity on where WWE is going with Ziggler - because he's currently involved in multiple feuds - with the likes of Miz and Kevin Owens. We should get some more answers tonight.
