While the rest of the world is dealing with a pretty nasty 2020, Dominik Mysterio is having one of the best years of any young wrestling performer. He's been introduced to the WWE Universe as a legitimate wrestler and he seems to have cemented himself a spot on the roster, having been drafted to SmackDown this past Friday night.

Dominik recently sat down for an interview with popular YouTube host Chris Van Vliet and spoke about his transition into WWE, among other things. When asked if he has any dream opponents that would top his list of upcoming matches, he didn't waste time listing off a who's who of talents he'd like to square up with.

Included in that list was Roman Reigns, Edge, Randy Orton, and Andrade, who he thinks he'd have a great match with. He believes he'd have great chemistry in a one-on-one match with Humbert Carillo and he'd love to get in the ring with someone like Adam Cole from NXT. But, when asked if his plan was to ever wrestle his father (Rey Mysterio), he gave a surprising response.

"Yes, most definitely," he said. He added, "I think that'll be -- that's still a long time from now, but I remember all the spankings he gave me as a kid. So, I'm sure our match will come."

Is Rey Close to Retiring?

When Dominik was asked about how long he thinks his dad has before retiring or if he was close to hanging up his boots, Dominik said, "I don't think he's been close to retiring yet." Explaining that his dad has always felt really good, it's only his left knee and multiple surgeries they need to keep an eye on.

He's constantly training with his dad and every time he asks him to jump in the ring, Rey's response is immediately yes. I'll ask him, 'Hey, how are you feeling? You're feeling good?' And he's like, 'Yeah, I feel great'. I don't think he's going to call quits anytime soon."
