Drew Gulak recently appeared on X-Pac's 1, 2, 360 podcast and debunked some myths about Superstars and creative.

205 Live may have struggled over the past year to retain viewership and to book a deep, entertaining show. Yet, with Triple H and Drake Maverick now involved, it’s turned around completely, and one of the biggest constants over that time has been Drew Gulak, who is all around one of the most entertaining performers in the entirety of the WWE. Not only is he a vicious technical wrestler, but his promos have become a highlight of weekly WWE TV. While speaking with X-Pac on his podcast; X-Pac 1, 2, 360, Gulak spoke about the process behind a WWE promo, and his style.

Speaking on promos, he said that like most other people, his are written for him, but the performers are given the freedom to manipulate the words to make them sound more natural. While some guys go out there and use completely different material to what they were given, he likes to stick pretty closely to what was written for him. He also talked about his character throughout the podcast, and like promos, the guys on screen do have great relationships with creative, and they are allowed to discuss their ideas. Obviously, they all work together with promos, but for the most part, it’s all scripted by 205 Live and Raw’s creative team.

Hopefully, this means we’ll be seeing plenty of powerpoint presentations going forward, and if Gulak manages to win the Cruiserweight Title tournament at WrestleMania, his promos may get even funnier and entertaining. Either way, we are just happy that the WWE is helping Gulak become the star that he is today.

So what do you guys think? Do you enjoy the promos on 205 Live? Would you prefer them to be more unscripted, like Mustafa Ali’s recent gems on Twitter? As always, let us know all your thoughts and ideas in the comments.
