Dusty Rhodes’ Last Tweet Sent Praise To Becky Lynch

The last thing Dusty Rhodes ever tweeted before he passed away was praise for Becky Lynch. If only he could see her now.

You can ask any wrestler today who their influences are, and each of them will have a handful. There will be a fair few names that crop up very often too. People like Stone Cold, The Rock, Hulk Hogan, and Ric Flair. However, there is one name that seems to have played a part in pretty much every present-day wrestler's career, especially in WWE.

That man is Dusty Rhodes. For the last decade of his life, The American Dream spent his time in WWE. Not as a wrestler, but as someone who helped almost all of the next generation of Superstars that were coming through at the time. He was an integral part of NXT, and that's why his influence is still ever-present in WWE today.

One wrestler Rhodes took a particular shine to was Becky Lynch. In fact, we were recently reminded by Wrestle Zone that Rhodes' last ever tweet was about The Lass Kicker. Lynch was still in NXT at the time, but Dream described her as being in the top five of the last five years. It may have taken a while, but he has most definitely been proven right.

Rhodes sent the tweet on June 7, 2015, just four days before he passed away. Three and a half years later and his final words on social media could not be any truer. Lynch has taken the ball and run with it and is maybe the best thing about WWE today. She may have hit a speed bump in the form of her facial injury, but rest assured, The Man will be back soon and better than ever.

Whether Rhodes had one of the greatest wrestling minds in the history of the business was never up for debate. However, it is nice to be reminded of how smart a man he really was, even during his final days. The American Dream saw the worth in Becky Lynch before WWE did and before most of us did. Plus, what a badge of honor it is for Lynch to be the last wrestler Rhodes ever endorsed.
