After announcements surfaced Dwayne Wade would return to the Miami Heat on a one-year deal, it was also reported it would be his last year and his intention after the season was to announce his retirement. In an emphatic tweet, Wade is calling that report foul.

In two simple words on Twitter, Wade responded to the rumors of his signing in Miami and pending retirement as "Fake News."

What Dwayne Wade would do this summer and moving forward as it pertains to the rest of his basketball career has been a hot-button topic among NBA analysts. The speculated options were that Wade would rejoin the Heat, could head to China to play with a lucrative offer on the table or retire knowing that his best days of basketball are likely behind him. If Wade is returning, he's not letting it be known. So too, if he's retiring, no one seems to know that either.

Alex Kennedy of HoopsHype raised doubts about the report of Wade's impending return to Miami on Wednesday, noting no contract agreement is in place and "retirement is a serious consideration" for the 36-year-old star.

The Heat's Pat Riley was said to be holding a spot for Wade and it is speculated that should Wade return to the NBA, it would be with the Miami. Wade is recognized as a the face of that franchise — likely more so than LeBron James who helped the Heat win two NBA Championships — and retiring in Miami with one more season would be how most people would likely hope Wade's career ends.

But, bringing in Wade is not done without asking some organizational questions. How much will he play? And, does bringing in Wade mean taking away significant minutes from players like Tyler Johnson? On Wade's end, does he want to take what could be viewed as a much smaller role to keep playing?

If the report is wrong and Wade does retire, he leaves the NBA with three titles, an NBA Finals MVP award and 12 All-Star Game selections.
