Local advertising for this year's WWE Hall Of Fame ceremony revealed on Sunday that D-Generation X will be among the inductees.
We are well and truly on the road to WrestleMania and while most things are chugging along as expected, one thing is not. The announcement of this year's Hall Of Fame inductees. We normally know who a handful of them are going to be by now as WWE tends to start the announcements in late January/early February.
However, all we have gotten so far for 2019's class are rumors. Strong rumors yes, but still nothing in the form of confirmation from WWE. It is expected that Bam Bam Bigelow will take up his rightful place in the Hall this year, and it has also been strongly hinted that the original iteration of The Hart Foundation will also become Hall Of Famers.
While those are merely rumors, local advertising on Sunday night may well have given us our first real news of some of 2019's inductees. Tickets for the ceremony go on sale this Friday and during an ad shown locally for the show, it was revealed that D-Generation X will be inducted. Various short clips from the faction's history were shown and then info regarding the tickets was saved until the end.
Here's the video of the DX Hall of Fame advertisement. I assumed something must've been said on the PPV for this to just air at late night(I didn't watch) but I guess not. #WWEHOF #WWEChamber @SeanRossSapp pic.twitter.com/dTWYOrxAep— Aaron (@Red_Carousell) February 18, 2019
You can check the ad out for yourself above. What's interesting is who will be inducted as a part of DX. Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Road Dogg, Billy Gunn, X-Pac, and most notably, Chyna. Not only is the Ninth Wonder Of The World shown multiple times during the commercial, but she is also mentioned by name when those who will be inducted are listed off by the narrator. A huge win for fans who have wanted to see Chyna become a Hall Of Fame r for years, which has to be almost everybody.
It may seem like a crazy thing to say considering the footage above, but DX's induction is not a surefire thing. We all know how Vince McMahon hates fans finding out things before they're supposed to, and we can't imagine this is how he would want the news to get out. WWE usually lets a big-time news source such as ESPN or Fox break the news. If Mr. McMahon isn't too annoyed about the ad airing too early, that news might well be officially broken by WWE some time later today.
