Enzo Amore Claims He Was Vince McMahon's Favorite Wrestler For A Year

Enzo Amore has claimed that Vince McMahon was his biggest fan and that he was the boss's favorite character on Raw for a full year.

Despite Enzo Amore technically not being a part of the wrestling business anymore, he has somehow continued to make headlines since he was released by WWE. It has been more than a year since that release and Amore continues to make waves. The most recent of those waves came when he snuck into Survivor Series and was escorted out when he shed his disguise, stood on his chair, and tried to cause a fuss.

Amore is now making headlines again via something a lot of burned former WWE Superstars choose to do, a shoot interview. A fresh snippet of Amore's interview with Title Match Wrestling was released this week during which the former Cruiserweight Champion goes into detail about his relationship, or lack of it, with Vince McMahon.

Despite admitting that he and Big Cass would avoid the chairman as much as they possibly could, Amore also claimed that he was the boss's favorite for about a year. "I wouldn’t be remiss to say that I was probably his favorite character he had on his show for about a year," Amore revealed. He added that he and Cass were the number one merch sellers at the time and that Mr. McMahon loves money.

No argument there. Perhaps the most interesting part of the clip came when Amore talked about Triple H, claiming that The Game would tell him he was on the verge of being fired for weeks. "He’d sit me in a room...and tell me I’m about to be fired. Then the next night I get handed a microphone and am in the main event."

If you ask us, it sounds as if WWE wanted to fire Amore for a while. However, the money he was bringing in via merchandise sales made that a tough trigger to well and truly pull. Eventually though, following the accusations surrounding Amore, WWE decided that they'd had enough. Despite his entertaining mic skills, there is no disputing the fact that Amore must have been a tricky talent to deal with behind the scenes.
