Daniel Bryan has been one of the WWE's top main event superstars throughout his career, and that isn't likely to change any time soon.

According to WWE insider Tom Colohue, new SmackDown Live Executive Director Eric Bischoff, respects Bryan's "great work in wrestling and in promos." The report from Colohue outlines that Bischoff "wants to see a lot more of it," and that the former WWE Champion will be "going up the card for sure."

In his first run with WWE, Bryan and John Cena were unquestionably the company's top two babyfaces. Bryan came out of retirement in 2018 - two years after hanging up the boots - and continued his work as the beloved and admired babyface.

However, the wrestling world was shocked when Bryan turned heel back in November. He was able to win the WWE Championship over AJ Styles, and instead of staying graceful in victory, Bryan brutally attacked the other main eventer babyface.

Bryan then started to berate the WWE Universe, and he introduced himself as "The New Daniel Bryan." He has retained the bad guy status ever since, helping Kofi Kingston get over big time as well, losing to him in a WWE Championship match at WrestleMania 35.

It'll be interesting to see which other superstars Bischoff looks to push once he's fully inserted into his new role. It's already been reported that Paul Heyman wants to build the Raw main event picture around Seth Rollins, Rey Mysterio, Braun Strowman, Cesaro, Sami Zayn, Bobby Lashley, Baron Corbin and Roman Reigns.

What This Means

Bryan has the unique ability to pull off both the ever-popular babyface and the main event heel roles. Bischoff simply can't go wrong either way on Bryan; whether that means keeping him as a bad guy or turning him back into the top face. But the bottom line is that Bischoff seems intent on continuing Bryan's big push here.
