WWE Hall Of Famer Eric Bischoff has some advice for All Elite Wrestling in the event that the company decides to go to war with its main rival WWE.

In a recent interview with Foundation Radio, Bischoff said the All Elite Wrestling will have to head-to-head with WWE if they truly want to become a formidable force.

“Here’s what has to happen for that to be viable. AEW’s got to go head-to-head,” Bischoff began. “There’s got to be a fight. There has to be a battle. Going back to storytelling, what are the stakes? Until AEW gets to the point where they’re delivering a similar sized audience and start trying to take some real estate…it’s a war! If you want a war, you got to have a freakin’ war! You gotta do it! AEW needs to take away some WWE real estate. And when that starts happening, people will believe the war, and then they’ll be invested.”

Eric Bischoff knows a thing or two about taking on WWE. Under his command, WCW Nitro famously trounced WWE Raw in the ratings for 83 weeks in the late '90s.

As you might recall, until recently AEW's flagship show Dynamite was going head-to-head with WWE's NXT on Wednesday evenings. NXT struggled to overtake Dynamite in the ratings and eventually relented when it moved to Tuesday nights. Of course, NXT is WWE's third most important brand, whereas Dynamite is AEW's main show.

“If we’re no longer going to be opposed on Wednesday night, I’m sure we’ll come up with some wonderful statement," AEW VP Cody Rhodes told Inside the Ropes at the time. "What could I say? ‘Congratulations to NXT on a successful move to Tuesday nights. The real winners are the fans who can watch NXT and Dynamite live every week as this is a marathon and not a one-night sprint.’ I could say that, but I don’t want to be sassy or a jerk because I think them moving, perhaps something else will end up on Wednesdays."
