Eric Bischoff reckons D-Generation X's success was primarily due to the involvement of Sean Waltman A.K.A X-Pac. The former WWE SmackDown executive director has made claims of Waltman being more instrumental than Triple H and Shawn Michaels, stating he put them more over than the two bigger-name stars.

Bischoff was speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, during which he discussed the Monday Night Wars. He noted that X-Pac made the group feel more real as he added credibility because of the way he split with WCW.

“There was no question that it was a really powerful faction," he said. "The timing was right. I’ve said this before, and I’m gonna say this again - I think what got DX over more than anything - more than Triple H, more than Shawn Michaels - was Sean Waltman. I think that added a level of credibility when that happened and just made it feel more real. It brought more of an edgy character with it. I think because of the way he left WCW and the rhetoric back and forth and all that. But it felt like war, and it felt like it should’ve felt during the Monday Night War era.”

Waltman Is Looking Forward To A Return

Meanwhile, X-Pac is considering what would be his final run in wrestling. The WWE Hall of Famer recently revealed having gotten cured of hepatitis C, also disclosing plans for surgery on his knee.

“Now, that’s clear. I’m going to get my knee fixed, I’ve had a torn ACL since the turn of this decade, like 2008 or something," he said recently. "I’m going to get that fixed and sometime next year, I’ll put myself on the market, have a few more matches. Everyone thinks they have one more run left in them. Anywhere I run, it’d have to be a sprint.”

We're definitely looking forward to that sprint.
