During an exclusive interview with Roman Reigns, The Sportster chatted with the WWE Superstar about his new partnership with Brisk and his role in the upcoming film Hobbs and Shaw. Near the end of our conversation, we asked what Reigns thinks about AEW as a competitor. While trying to be kind, he responded, simply, there's no comparison.

Reigns is preparing to see himself on screen in his first major feature film role when Hobbs and Shaw hits theaters this summer. And, to promote a partnership with Brisk and their new specially made ‘Cans of Whup Ass’, Reigns took a few minutes to chat with us about filming the movie, being in WWE, the brand split and more.

You can see Roman's role in the new Brisk promotional video below.

Roman plays the role of Luke Hobbs' (Dwayne Johnson) cousin in the film. It was a role he was able to take on because of his leukemia diagnosis and time away from wrestling while undergoing treatment. We chatted with Roman about the role and his part in it, but we expanded that conversation to chatting about AEW.

While Brisk was hoping we'd stick to primarily a conversation on the movie and his family heritage, a natural conversation about his role in WWE and representing WWE as the face of the company came up. I asked, "do you think it's good that a company like AEW exists and might present some form of competition for WWE?"

Reigns responded:

"I'll just say this. It's all so new and it was what it was with Ambrose leaving and popping up over there... Competition? No, there's no competition. WWE, we know exactly what we're doing. We have the best talent in the world. There's no comparing, I say that with firm confidence, all the way from the top to the very bottom. .. We are world class all the way through."

Reigns added, "Is it another option? Sure." For wrestlers around the world and in the locker room, (even WWE's) AEW is "another option and another place to get a cheque."

He finished with, "I'm never against optimism but I think you have foolish thoughts if you really think there's a comparison or actual competition. Just an option, which isn't a bad thing."

What This Means

Like Seth Rollins, it's clear Reigns is very much in the corner of WWE when it comes to talking about the talent of the WWE roster. He called WWE world class and says no one can touch them in terms of talent.

As for his partnership with Brisk, Katrina McDonald Senior Director, Pepsi Lipton Joint Venture Brands said, "At Brisk we’re devoted to finding bold, imaginative and exciting ways to connect with our fans’ passions and creative drive, which is why we’re excited about our partnership with Universal Pictures and ‘Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.’”

The specially made ‘Cans of Whup Ass’, which Reigns is currently connected with, will be available for consumers through sweepstakes, on Brisk social media, at ComplexCon in Chicago, and at select retail activations and early screenings of “Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw” throughout the country this summer.
